Hello Central Montana & Beyond! Old Man Winter came back with a vengeance this week and all but shut down travel around Lewistown for a couple days. We had two consignments of replacement heifers and a dispersion of Hereford cows roll in prior to the weather, and found good interest on both counts during our short sale Tuesday! There were 66 head of top-cut, ranch-raised replacement heifers from near Livingston that brought $1,400, weighing 650#. The 600# replacement heifers from the Buffalo area brought $1,360. The Hereford cows from Shelby, Montana were bred polled Hereford for April 1st, and caught exceptional demand! The young, middle-age and solid mouth cows all brought right at $1,800, while the short term cows brought $1,350!
