Since 1951, Lewistown Livestock Auction has served the cattle producers of central Montana with weekly all-class cattle sales. Cattle sales are every Tuesday with a summer schedule in effect during the months of June, July and August.

Stock Cow Central
Lewistown is a natural location for commerce, meetings, conventions and sales! We consider central Montana cow-calf producers to be amongst the premier cow-calf producers in the northern states. Bred cow specials begin in November with our “Heart of the Herd” sale the third Tuesday of that month. Bred cow sales are held monthly through the beginning of the spring calving season, giving buyers an opportunity to access the exceptional genetics and reputation Angus, Red Angus, Simmental, Charolais and Gelbvieh cattle born and bred in the heart of Montana.

Chester Receiving Station
Beginning in February, 2021, northern Montana producers will have the option to deliver cattle to the Chester Stockyards on Mondays to catch trucks headed for Lewistown’s Tuesday sales. LLA will have a representative on-site to coordinate these trips. Liberty County charges $1.50/head for use of the yard, and trucking is charged by the cwt. Both fees will be paid out of the seller’s proceeds for simplicity. Market trip permits will be available on-site. For more information or to pre-consign, call Kyle Shobe, 406-366-0472.
Sheep & Horse Sales
Sheep and Horse auctions are held seasonally from May through October. A sale calendar will be out mid-spring for upcoming sales and events.
