Hello Central Montana and beyond! Nice run of cattle this week in Lewistown selling right at 1200 head, with a pretty sizeable run of cows and bulls. Several nice packages of calves highlighted the feeder sale, and we continue to see a few yearlings coming to market. That yearling trade wanted to act a little weaker Tuesday as we seem to have worked our way through the majority of the larger yearling groups already this fall. Most of the calves this week were weighing in the 400-500 pound range, with just a few over 600. Buyer interest was mixed on the different weight classes of the calves. We expect to test that calf market more in the coming weeks with the consignments that are already on the list. If you have calves you are considering bringing our way, please call so we can help you with timing and marketing.
